Mount Warning

I guess the name should be enough to put anyone off… But not us. A quick hour drive from Brisbane and we ended up at what we were told would be a 4-5 hour hike. Well… We polished it off in 2 hours 45 so feeling pretty smug!

It did involve a whole heap of stairs. In fact it was basically like walking up several hundred flights of stairs as opposed to a mountain… But then you do get the scenery…

What they didn’t mention was the almost vertical climb for the the last 0.4 km of the hike to the top of the mountain. Thankfully you get provided with a chain secured to the side of the mountain that you can use to haul yourself up. You don’t get tied in though. So don’t loose your grip!

We did successfully make it to the top. Pictures taken and a kind of careful drop / absail back down again…

Seeing as it was a super quick zip up and down the mountain we then had time for a paddle in the sea on the way back home… At the border between New South Wales and Queensland called Snapper Rocks…

Well I say ‘we’ went for a paddle but clearly only English seem interested in that sport…

Anyway… We were so quick paddling that we even had time to head to a theme park  called Movie World on the way back home for the last 30 minutes of its opening hours and grab 2 rides! Thanks Simon for the passes!
