So not typically how I would expect to spend Christmas Day. I mean, I’m used to ice cold temperatures, a nice gust of wind, a spatter of rain… Maybe if I’m really lucky even a bit of hail. Then you get the memorable occasions when it snows on Christmas Day. Well that’s what I’ve been used to for the last 30 or so years, but all that changed when the ship decided to dock in Puntarenus for the day last Christmas.
So after a fun night waiting for Santa to arrive the night before we were all greeted with a beach?
Where’s the snow? How’s Santa supposed to travel across this? How can I build a snowman? Just a few of the questions that ran through my mind before I realised that I could actually deal with this…
So Simone had already decided before leaving the ship that he wanted to swim like a dolphin which he promptly did as soon as he hit the water…
Of course you can’t have Christmas without food and drink which is where we then headed to next… The bar. Couple of beers and then we found a nice little restaurant further along the main drag where we got some nice grilled fish. Yes not turkey… Fish. The Italian loves his fish!
Do not ask me who the chap is on the right. I have no idea. I do remember him being very chatty though…
We didn’t try the restaurant opposite…
