So I find myself hanging out in New Caledonia again. I visited this place on the ships several years ago and although I must have taken plenty of photos I can’t for the life of me remember what’s here? Bad eh?
So we’ve been stuck on the ship for a couple of days at sea traveling away from Auckland to our first destination today which was Noumea. Our final destination at the end of the cruise will be Sydney, but that’s some time off yet…
I’ve only spent a few days on this ship and the plan is to stay here till September… But as we know plans always change and who knows where I’ll be sent in the next few days! However, the team is pretty awesome. All a bunch of nutters and they all work super hard so it’s pretty much win win at the moment.
A quick look at the app on my phone brought up a suggestion of a mountain nearby to where we had docked. I say mountain but it was in fact a massive 128 meters high… More of a bump really. Anyway it was the best we had so a couple of bus journeys later we found ourselves at the base of this hill (not quite nearby exactly.)
It did however, give us a pretty nice view of some of the scenery…
You also get too see how sweaty I am. It was humid! From left to right… Carly (nurse), me, Cathy (doctor).
Obviously the trip to the top of this hill didn’t take all that long which gave us just enough time to hang from a canon…
… And attempt the teach the doctor how to do a handstand… Kinda unsuccessfully…
Anyhow… Just enough time to jump on the 2 buses back and make it to afternoon clinic with 5 minutes to spare…
Oh the mountain was called Ouen Toro…
You need an inversion table.
